Full service marina: The Boca Raton Resort Marina was one of Florida's smallest facilities, beginning with only 23 large slips. This marina was an amenity to the, then, only 5 star hotel in the state of Florida and complemented tennis, golf and other typical upscale resort amenity offerings. The day Brandy took over the facility, there were three boats in the slips, and all charter vessels. There hadn't been a transient slip rented in 45 days. When Brandy managed this facility, industry data supported that the operation gleaned the most income per slip on a per capita basis than any other Florida marina.
Facilities:
Under our management, the marina improved it's slip ratios and service, added major charter activity, provided hard to access accommodation for large transient vessels, provided amenity services to hotel guests (e.g. organized cocktail, fishing, sailing, cruising and eco trips and a desirable destination. Profitability was additionally augmented by increasing the minimum vessel length to occupy a slip; increasing daily fishing charters from an average of three per day in year 1 to over 12 a day in year 8; and maintaining a desirable dockage destination in the slower summer months.
Fuel was not on property when Brandy took over so a fuel truck was purchased and fuel was delivered, by request, to each slip. Customs check-in, large on and off site convention accommodations were supported and designed including alligator sightseeing in the everglades and multiple fishing tournaments (100 boats) simultaneously.
