Brandy Marine, Inc., based in Sarasota, Florida with offices in Orlando, Port St. Joe, Savannah, GA and Hilton Head Island, is a leading international waterfront development and marina consulting company with a 20-year track record. Its focus is enhancing marina's potential and profitability by applying sophisticated finance and management practices.
Headed by Bruce H. Blomgren, the company expanded with the affiliation of H. John Landry as a principal. The expansion added additional marina management as well as brokerage and investment capabilities and positioned Brandy to become a joint venture partner in new and existing marinas. As a "single-source problem solver" for marina owners, developers and buyers, Brandy continues to offer the industry's most comprehensive menu of specialized marina consulting and marina operations service.

According to the engineer who designed and built the marina - William Kennedy of the firm Preble-Rish, Inc. - the new marina will serve as the centerpiece for future growth for the Port St. Joe area, and Brandy Marine's experience in the marina business ensures the success of the facility.

Brandy named Richard A. Hance as on-site General Manager and Vice President. Hance said that as the only major marina between Panama City and Apalachicola, it did not take boaters long to find Port St. Joe Marina. Already, the marina facility has seen a $2 million fishing boat, antique boats, classic boats and sailboats - large and small. Within a 40-mile radius are Cape San Blas, St. George Island, Apalachicola and Mexico Beach. The marina's deepwater channel at 25 feet is also unusual for the normally shallow Gulf coast waters. The channel was designed may years ago to accommodate an oil storage facility and the recently closed paper mill.

The marina, which is located on the edge of St. Joseph's Bay, has access to the Gulf of Mexico and the Intercoastal Waterway via the Gulf County Canal. The marina features 120 wet covered and uncovered slips, capable of handling 20-ft. to 100-ft. boats. In addition, a storage building has 79 dry storage slips. The full-service marina supplies diesel and gas fuel, has a complete ship's store and offers fishing charters and guide service. A cafe with outside seating is also planned.

Port St. Joe, the historical home to Florida's Constitutional Convention and the origin of Florida's statehood, provides a unique and distinctive backdrop to marine and tourism visitors. The restored downtown area is an easy walk from the new marina providing restaurants, grocery stores and a variety of other services to visiting or permanent boating visitors.
