Oceanside Marina to host MARC’s Annual Fishing Tournament 

KEY WEST, FLORIDA – MARC, has once again selected Oceanside Marina to host their annual fishing tournament, which will take place on July 9, 2011.

The Monroe Association for ReMARCable Citizens is a non-profit agency that serves adult clients within Monroe County who have developmental disabilities that include mental retardation (I.Q. 69 or below), cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Prader-Willi Syndrome, and traumatic brain injury sustained prior to age 18.

“Oceanside is pleased to sponsor this worthwhile event to provide a day of fishing for the Marc House residents. This is the 6th year we have been involved and certainly it is the most rewarding event of the year for our staff. We expect to have 25 boat captains joining us to take approximately 80 people out for a day of fishing with an awards ceremony to follow recognizing each one of their accomplishments,” stated Captain Bruce Blomgren of Brandy Marine International who manages the marina.

Coca Cola donates all the drinks and the world famous “Sloppy Joes” from Key West’s Duval Street, will donates the catered lunch for the tournament.

Oceanside Marina is Key West’s gateway to the Atlantic Ocean. They have been host to over 400 IGFA world records…..more than any other marina in the United States. Hundreds of vessels each year use the facility as their jump point to Cuba, Mexico, Cayman Islands, the Dry Tortugas and many other southern destinations.  Key West is currently experiencing sunny, 80+ degree weather – perfect for cruising, fishing and enjoying an exotic, tropical atmosphere.
