Bruce H. Blomgren
Bruce H. Blomgren, President/CEO of Brandy Marine International, LLC of Sarasota, FL, has been a successful businessman, entrepreneur, professional speaker and consultant throughout his career. From a Chicago-based family of single family construction and design, Capt. Blomgren has spent more than 35 years in Real Estate and Marina development in Alabama, the Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, California, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Europe, Florida, Jamaica, Massachusetts, Mexico, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Panama, Peru, Rhode Island, St. Kitts, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Virginia, Wisconsin and in other states and countries. He piloted corporate marketing for the Walt Disney Company's land development subsidiary, and in 1977, he became founder and Chief Executive of America’s first “chain” of yacht marinas in the U.S., Brandy Marine Inc., and a unique international waterfront development-consulting firm, the Brandy Group. As the first American company to “collect” marinas, Brandy Marine formed a chain of marinas linked by common management and precise operation procedures. The company continues to set standards of customer service that remain industry models. Captain Blomgren has 32 years experience in all aspects of the marina industry including: marina feasibility and water transportation studies and marina consulting, designs and operation/management. The company has provided management solutions for 70 marinas in eight states, building a reputation for customer service, expanded earnings thought profit centers, slip absorption marketing and personnel training. As a consultant, Brandy Marine has provided services to more than 550 clients in 13 countries

Earlier, Bruce served Gerald Ford as an Advance Executive in the hotly contested 1976 presidential campaign. Prior to this assignment, he served Missouri Governor Christopher Bond as Press Secretary and Illinois Governor Richard Ogilvie as Assistant Press Secretary as well as anchoring weekend ABC radio news.

He is a graduate of Monmouth College and serves as a Member of the Urban Land Institute; is a member of the National Homebuilders Association; was a founding member of the Marina Council to the American Land Development Association; is a member of the National Speakers Association and co-authored with others the 1987 Urban Land Institute book, "Developing with Recreational Amenities- Golf, Tennis, Skiing and Marinas". He regularly speaks and writes on the topics of waterfront and residential/resort development. Bruce is a United States Coast Guard licensed Master Captain has raced both sailboats and powerboats and claimed the 1985 Southeast Offshore Powerboat Stock Division Championship. In 2004, Bruce was honored by his inclusion in Boating Industry's 75th anniversary list of historical Marina Movers and Shakers.
