Donna Hartman
Donna Hartman is director of public relations/director of research for Brandy Marine International, L.L.C. of Sarasota, FL. She performs market research, compiles information, writes and assembles marketing reports and feasibility studies for clients, provides editing services for Brandy Marine, and performs in-house research on a number of marine-related topics relevant to clients’ projects and Brandy Marine’s company objectives. Ms. Hartman tracks trends in the marine and boating industries, in real estate and development, in marine and environmental regulation, and factors that effect local, national and global economies in order to provide Brandy Marine and its clients with the most up-to-date and relevant information available that could impact specific projects.
As director of public relations, Ms. Hartman compiles information for and writes press releases and other public information documents for distribution to industry specific trade and consumer print and online publications and electronic media and to the general media. She has placed Brandy Marine news and project news in several high-profile industry publications, including ShowBoats International, Marina World, Destination Fish, Saltwater Sportsman, Marlin, Florida Sport Fisherman and www.superyachttimes, among other print and online publications.
Ms. Hartman is a veteran journalist who has covered government on the local, state and national levels, business and industry, arts and entertainment, fitness and health and cultural trends. She has worked as a full-time staff writer for several daily newspapers in New England and in Florida and for monthly magazines and trade publications. She has won numerous writing awards, including a first place award from the New York Business Press Editors. In 2005, she completed a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship at the Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She was among 25 journalists from across the country selected for the fellowship program.
Ms. Hartman graduated with honors from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, MA, with a bachelor’s degree in English and journalism.
