Diana Michel
As Director of Marketing and Sales for Brandy Marine, Diana Michel provides sales and marketing assistance in a number of projects. She is currently directly responsible for sales and marketing at Marina Papagayo at the Peninsula Papagayo Resort in Costa Rica and previously served as Brandy Marine’s sales and marketing director for the marina at the Vinoy Resort, a Marriott Renaissance Resort in St. Petersburg, FL.

She is also president of Michel Sports Marketing of Sarasota, FL, providing marketing services and consulting for companies targeting consumers of luxury goods. Her list of clients includes: Brunswick: US Marine Group; Tiara Yachts; World Class Catamarans; McKee Craft Boats; and Booth Digital Studios, among others. The company managed public and media relations, promotions and sponsorship attainment for the American Powerboat Association and several teams on the offshore circuit, including Zero Defect Offshore Racing and C.H. Racing. The company also prepared pre-race press materials, scheduled driver interviews with the media, assisted with live broadcast of team-related information and issued post-race press information.

“My experience in the marine industry has always been an adventure. In the early days, I worked with celebrities, movies and television series, such as Miami Vice and Baywatch in marketing the Wellcraft Scarab brand. Later, I helped develop the Wellcraft high-performance boating and safety school which trained celebrities, customers and even members of the late President Ronald Reagan’s Secret Service staff. From selling boats at international shows to fishing tournaments to photo shoots, you never know what’s over the next wave,” Diana said.

She has worked as Director of New Client Services and Account Executive for Williams & Helde, Inc. of Seattle, WA, a marketing communications agency that provides marketing services in the form of interactive CD-Rom and Internet technologies, traditional print and broadcast media. Clients included: Fleetwood RV, U.S. Marine, Intel, Microsoft, Fred Hutchinson, Cancer Research Center Foundation, and Uflex, USA. She was Marketing and Promotions Manager for Genmar Industries Inc. of Minneapolis, MN, the world’s largest group of independently owned boat manufacturers, including Wellcraft, Aquasport, Excel, Lund, Larson, Glastron, Crestliner, Cajun, Ranger, Carver, Trojan and Hatteras yachts. Michel’s territory included 15 western states, 192 dealers and 71 Sam’s Club stores. Michel was Product Manager for Wellcraft Marine in Sarasota, FL, managing the Wellcraft, Excel and Aquasport divisions of Genmar Industries Inc. Prior to becoming Product Manager for Wellcraft, Michel was the Administrative Manager of Marketing, Marketing Services Manager and Customer Service Manager at Wellcraft.

Diana earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. She is a licenses Florida real estate agent. She is a member of the University of South Florida Alumni Association, a graduate and alumni association member of Leadership Manatee, and is a member of the March of Dimes.
