SARASOTA, FL - Brandy Marina, Inc., a leading international marina management, waterfront development and consulting company, has announced the acquisition of Marina Construction Services, Inc. (MCS) - an expansion that builds Brandy's position as the marina industry's most comprehensive "single-source" of expertise and services. "From initial concept through design, construction, financing, brokerage and management, Brandy Marine focuses on maximizing marinas' potential and profitability for owners," said President Bruce H. Blomgren. "This acquisition adds significant new capabilities to our firm, which has a 20-year track record. "Blomgren noted the company is designed to team with, rather than replace, a project's in-place professional team of engineers, planners and architects. " We bring the expertise that enhances the overall plan and provides marina site specific leadership." |
Major Construction Firm Acquisition: Adding to Brandy Marina Capabilities With the acquisition, Brandy has formed a new Orlando-based subsidiary, Brandy Marina Construction Management Services, Inc., to provide construction-related services. Dan Diehl, who founded Marina Construction Services in 1991, is president, and Blomgren serves as chairman. Diehl has over 25 tears experience in all phases of construction and has worked with DNR, DER, Army Corp. of Engineers and various county and state agencies in obtaining permitting and wetland mitigation. Assisting Diehl will be Joe McDonald as senior project manager. |
The new Brandy company will focus on the following services:
"MCS was developed as a specialty marina contractor and is staffed with professionals equipped to deal with unusual and specialized marine construction work," Diehl said. Diehl's firm served clients such as Vistana (Orlando), Vistana Beach Club (Hutchison Island), Flagler County, Volusia County, Bings Landing, Alaqua Development (Heathrow-Orlando), and Gator Land Zoo. |
